Clifford D. Robinson Librettist/Novelist/Director

Cliff Robinson, is a Dramatist Guild and ASCAP Member, Saxophonist

Cliff has always been a gifted writer. Over the years in addition to writing three Librettos, he has also written Ad Campaigns (TV, Radio and Print), Corporate Training Videos and a little Poetry too. But he attributes every “gift” he has to God Almighty in Jesus Name.

Additionally, he has always loved music. Cliff began playing Saxophone in the sixth grade in the Highland Park School System where he received excellent training and guidance. By the way as a sophomore, he earned a scholarship to the world renowned Interlochen Arts Academy, which he attended Summer, 1965. Upon graduating from H.P.H.S. and attending college Cliff played in several Jazz bands around town, and his love of music never wavered. But he stopped playing Saxophone for thirty years to pursue his vocation in Construction Management and Marketing Consulting. It was during that period he wrote Quintessence… The Musical! His music background served him well in this regard enabling him to pen the Music and Lyrics for seven of the songs in the Play.

Then one day out of the blue in 2003, “The Lord” caused him to play Saxophone again. Brother Robinson was a proud member of the Oak Grove AME band for over six years where he played every Sunday. He still also occasionally plays with various Gospel and Jazz groups around the D.
