Quintessence…The Musical! © By Clifford D. Robinson (Dramatist Guild # 95026)
Isn’t it time for an Animated Film/Audio Book that is based upon Scripture and Christian values? One that not only Teaches, but also entertains? Well, here it is. Quintessence…The Musical!
This “Spiritual Adventure,” is about a day in the life of three best of friends (13-year-old)
teenage girls from Highland Park. A very special day which will change their lives, and warm your heart forever.
The girls have a dream where they actually reach “Quintessence (Kwin-tes-sns) noun;
2) ”the fifth element, “above” Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water. The ethereal”. This is where
our Play/Film takes place. It is here, where the girls meet nine unforgettable characters.
All of them unique, and in their own way prolific. In that they represent the very essence
of life, itself! The girls meet Flame (The Soul), and six manifestations of the Soul.
They also meet “The Body”, and “The spirit”. Each of these characters are meaningful,
provocative. And they all are Quintessence.
1) “anything in its purest and most concentrated form”. The conversations between
these characters and the girls will have something to say to every age group.
God’s Word is carefully intertwined throughout and is the backbone for this
Teaching Ministry, while being completely entertaining and fun. Kids will love it! And
the adults will be moved.
“For a time such as this- comes Quintessence…The Musical!"
The importance of a Project of this nature is overwhelming! In society today, children
and teenagers are at risk! And for the most part, adults are no longer themselves either.
The constant exposure to drugs, sex, violent/immoral mass media, negative music, and
crime are robbing our youth of their childhood, while stripping society of its basic intrinsic
values. And “The Body of Christ” is being challenged like never before!
Seeing Quintessence will help.

Quintessence is a Musical complete with lots of singing and dancing. The Score is a mixed genre of Pop, Jazz, Gospel, Funk, Latin, Classical, and positive Rap. The music is strong. Moving. Each song stands on its’ own...And the Dancing! Wow! There is Contemporary/Modern, some Praise, and a little Hip Hop too. This is an exciting Show! It was crafted in the image of the “Classic American Musical”. You know, shows like West Side Story, The Wizard of and Oz, and Frozen!
Its is good clean entertainment, completely devoid of C.S. & V. (Cursing, Sex, and Violence). Yet, it is enduring and imaginative.
A Dichotomy
Quintessence is Theater and Film, in the true sense. It just so happens that the subject matter has Scriptural and Spiritual content. Its’ message has something to say to every age group, Gender, Race and national origin. Kid’s love it! And the adults will be moved. Theologians will applaud it. While Agnostics and Non-Believers, will marvel. Its’ got Drama and Suspense, but no violence. Funny, yet no cursing. Sometimes whimsical, then at times more serious than heart failure! The singing and dancing will knock you out! And the Scriptural Teachings will increase your Faith. Now, there are two things that Quintessence absolutely guarantees. First, you will be entertained. And second, you will not leave out the same way you came in! It was originally performed publicly at the Palmer Park Auditorium in 1984. The audience response was outstanding! More recently Quintessence was “Showcased” April-May 2010 at
1515 Broadway in Downtown Detroit. It received standing ovations for both productions! Consequently, we have great confidence in it’s continued marketability, which has endured for decades, and beyond.

Talent & Creativity Productions is a consortium of gifted professionals and students of the Performing Arts dedicated to the production of Christian based positive, family oriented entertainment. Our particular areas of concentration are in Theater, Television, Music, and Film Productions. We are a self-contained production house, specializing solely in positive products.
Our resolve, is to originate scripts, develop/train the necessary talent from the community, and then supply the expertise & creativity in production so that our end products are market worthy. The first production of ours, was
“Quintessence…The Musical! A Spiritual Adventure” in 1984. It was performed at the Palmer Park Auditorium to a standing ovation!
Since that time we successfully produced Quintessence again in Spring 2010 at the 1515 Broadway Stage in Downtown Detroit. Then at the request of his Pastor, Cliff Wrote and Directed his next Libretto
“Resurrection… The Musical! This ain’t yo Grandma’s Easter Play.” All three of our Stage Productions were very well received. Then in 2021, we launched the Web based
“The Cheryl and Cliff Show". And we have more “Streaming” TV Series and Films in final development as well.
The philosophy of Talent & Creativity Productions is that there is a tremendous need for positive Scripture based family oriented entertainment. That is, entertainment not laced with cursing, sex and violence. Moreover, we feel there is not enough entertainment available which not only ‘entertains’, but also relays the many benefits living a Christian “moral” life provides. Additionally, we know that there is a
considerable market out there starving for such products.
Cliff Robinson, is a Dramatist Guild and ASCAP Member, Saxophonist
Cliff has always been a gifted writer. Over the years in addition to writing three Librettos, he has also written Ad Campaigns (TV, Radio and Print), Corporate Training Videos and a little Poetry too. But he attributes every “gift” he has to God Almighty in Jesus Name.
Additionally, he has always loved music. Cliff began playing Saxophone in the sixth grade in the Highland Park School System where he received excellent training and guidance. By the way as a sophomore, he earned a scholarship to the world renowned Interlochen Arts Academy, which he attended Summer, 1965. Upon graduating from H.P.H.S. and attending college Cliff played in several Jazz bands around town, and had some experience at Motown. His love of music never wavered. But he stopped playing Saxophone for thirty years to pursue his vocation in Construction Management and Marketing Consulting. It was during that period he wrote Quintessence… The Musical! His music background served him well in this regard enabling him to pen the Music and Lyrics for seven of the songs in the Play.
Then one day out of the blue in 2003, “The Lord” caused him to play Saxophone again. Brother Robinson was a proud member of the Oak Grove AME band for over six years where he played every Sunday. He still also occasionally plays with various Gospel and Jazz groups around the D.
We are currently in pre-production of the Soundtrack for the Animated Film which we will complete in 2022. More details to come!
We are always looking for Talent. Actors, Singers, Dancers, Choreographers, Musicians and Technicians. From Kids to Seniors. Please give us a shout. We plan to produce Quintessence on Stage Spring, 2023
